Edited by: Jackson Payday on 23/09/2006 21:22:34 I really don't think that any across the board "BOOST MATAR!" suggestions are ever going to be balanced or implemented.
I agree with a lot of the complaints in this thread about speed being used as a descriptor for minmatar ships where in the majority of cases having a slightly higher base speed makes no difference.
However Minmatar is a good race. Our strength comes from our wide variety of ships that can be used for many situations. We have good ships (in many cases the best ship) in every ship class.
The way to improve minmatar is to improve the underused minmatar ships and further improve upon the greatest strength to minmatar, VERSATILITY!
In my opinion, the minmatar ships in the greatest need of improvement are:
Breacher- This thing needs to go faster, simple as that.
Bellicose - Compared to the arbitrator, blackbird, and celestis it is by far the worse electric warfare cruiser. Sure it can be useful for supporting a raven with rage torps, but it doesn't fit with the minmatar fighting style. It isn't very useful for hit and run or small gangs. I don't really know what the best way to improve this ship would be, but it is in desperate need of something.
Claw - Yes the claw. The Claw is in my opinion the most worthless piece of crap around. Yes it's fast, and yes you can stick a plate on it. But it's 2 midslots and the shortest locking range of any interceptor prevent it from shining in any useful role. It either needs a 3rd mid so that it can fit a web and scram + MWD or even easier, it needs a longer lock range so that it can possibly get it's transversal a bit lower and hit things while orbiting out of web range with arties. Anyone who thinks the claw is a good inty is a fool, I'd rather fly a stiletto to tackle or a rifter to kill things in every situation.
Muninn - The muninn is a good ship, all it needs is a slight grid boost so that it can fit 720 IIs without a RCU.
Phoon - The king of versitility... More like you need 30 million skillpoints to fly it. Give it more missile and turret slots like others have said. 5/5 or even 6/6 would really make it's versitility a boon rather than a bane.
